The perfect vintage piece to complete your incredible Halloween outfit is sitting in a Greenpoint warehouse right now at Dusty Rose Vintage. The venerable vintage clothing wholesaler has opened in a new space on 233 Norman Avenue, and they are throwing open their doors in honor of Halloween. Usually open by appointment only to commercial clients, Dusty Rose is inviting the whole neighborhood to stop by and celebrate the ghoulish holiday with the finest undead threads.
From October 9 – 31st, this cavern of vintage will be open to all, Monday-Thursday, 4pm – 8pm. Be warned: it’s not for the faint of heart. It’s a real working warehouse, so there’s no idly flipping through hangers. You’ll have to dig for the gems. But if you’re a real thrift store junkie and live for the vintage hunt, this is easily the best place in Brooklyn to do it. All items are categorized so you can go straight for a bin of 70s disco shirts or the goth witchhouse mix. It’s cash only, so come prepared.
And even if clothes aren’t your thing, stop by to take the place in as a venue. The warehouse has a lot of clean industrial space, and Dusty Rose wants it to serve as a new event space in a part of Greenpoint commonly known as “the other side of McGuiness.” It could be the perfect place to host your pop up, photo shoot, class, comedy show, or other awesome event. And for the small army of Greenpointers who work in the film, TV or fashion industries, Dusty Rose could be a perfect match for film and tv costuming, design reference/inspiration, photo styling or any other other vintage needs.
