Some of the disgusting comments included:
John: “In local news, 200 people artists, baristas, and other creative types between the ages of 19 and 34 were found dead in Midtown this morning. More on this story as it develops.”
Pete: “What a great place to throw a grenade.”
Chris: “Brooklyn Yuppie Killer….pay for one get another dirtbag knocked off for free…….1800-Break-a-Hip.”
This is three out of hundreds of comments that have been specifically blocked for this type of language.
Discrimination and outright violence toward a group of people, who cannot be defined by race, gender, religious affiliation is still a form prejudice and will not be tolerated in the Greenpointers community.
Intolerant to Hipster Hatred on Facebook
This is actually disturbing. As you said-joking and light hearted humor is one thing, but this is beyond that. I hope this sort of discrimination stops or at least people realize it is not at all funny.
You’ve never been f**ked over by a hipster. You’ve never had your favorite bar taken over thanks to the influx of annoying hipsters. You’ve never had to worry about whether or not the landlord was going to raise your rent thanks to hipsters and its related gentrification. You never had your landlord harass you thanks to the aforementioned hipster invasion. While I’m not for violence, hipsters suck. They rip off everyone, and have no manners. The fact that many of them are ultra PC reveals later on just how hypocritical and mainstream they really are. Hipsters get no sympathy from me.
