Since it’s inception in 2009, North Brooklyn Public Art Coalition brought about the fruition of three major public art projects, namely; India Street Mural Project, Living Objects, and Future Phenomena. Focusing on a mission to bring art to the masses in all mediums, scales, and contexts, NbPac continues their support of public art and is pleased to announce an open call for their next installation.

Sound installation is the main focus, not similar to the cheesy interactive gimmicky quick-to-please projects you experience in the 34st street subway station or Battery Park. It’d be great to see an artwork that transforms your everyday experience, providing for a wholeheartedly all bodied listening experience, one that engages a specific historical and cultural site and stimulates a conversation beyond an anonymous personal opinion, branching out to what would potentially be a unifying community building public art piece.

The OPEN CALL for sound installation proposals are due end of the month, check the website for details and show us what you’ve got!
