I got an email from a reader who’d like to volunteer in the neighborhood on Christmas Day, does anyone know where her generosity might be needed?

So its a bit last minute, but I was wondering if you know of any places in the neighborhood that need a hand on Christmas day. This will be the first year I am staying in the city alone and would like to do something productive instead of just sitting around. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks…and happy holidays.

  2. My friends mother is volunteering at the Northside Senior Center 179 North 6th Street Brooklyn, NY 11211- (718) 387-2316 on Christmas Eve.

    I don't know the details or if they are accepting more volunteers but that would certainly be a good start, I think! If anyone contacts them for details, feel free to post.
