Maria Chavez, owner of Houndstooth, a clothing shop in Williamsburg is opening a one day shopping extravaganza offering vintage clothes ranging $5-$10, handmade jewelery, records, books and tons of sound equipment. It’s a yard sale for the hip and friendly to fund a music tour.

Straight from Maria:

So the concept of the pop-up store happened when I noticed that a few artist and musician friends of mine were going to be in Europe for one reason or another (I will be there in a couple weeks for a tour) and so I suggested we get together and sell some of our things to have some money for our trips. It will be held in my large basement and backyard space in Greenpoint on Saturday ONLY.

There will be vintage clothes (mainly women’s clothing) from my personal collection and my friends vintage collection (which you can also buy at her show that’s up right now at the ISE gallery in SoHo), a friend will be selling her handmade jewelry, lots of sound equipment from me and other musician friends, records, books and more. Price range is from $5 to $10 on clothes. Electronics will be on a case by case basis.

So come out and support some local artists and tell your friends. We’ll be DJing, drinking sangria and having a great time. Rain or Shine!
