Christmas is already upon us but it’s just a hop to New Years Eve, so what’s going on in the hood?

For family and friends fun look no further than the First Annual New Years Eve Countdown Party at St. Cecilia’s. Bring your friends, food and brews to hangout with the rest of the nabe and dance to the Parties On Point DJs.

Redstar is throwing a New Years Eve bash sure to the party of the ‘Point. And I imagine this one will rock right up until 4am. $75 open bar and buffet – enough said. Call 718-349-0149 for tickets.

Something low key more your style? Zenkichi is a modern Japanese restaurant at 77 N 6th St and would be perfect for a romantic New Year Eve dinner before hitting your parties or opt for the second seating and have a midnight toast to ring in the new year.

Zenkichi will offer a prix fixe New Year’s Eve Omakase to bring in 2009 in unique style. Winter delicacies such as cod milt and blue fin toro will appear on the special menu. See more details about the menu here.

The Richardson has a classy little shindig in mind. If you’ve been dying to wear that knockout holiday dress but afraid you’d be the only one dressed to the nines, here’s your chance to mingle among the decked out patrons of The Richardson.

We will be open regular hours on the afternoon of New Year’s Eve. For the evening’s festivities we will NOT be charging a cover and we WILL be serving bubbly abound as the clock strikes 12! In return, all we ask is that you gussy yourself up to the nines, and ring in ’09 in style! Grab friends and make them dress up all proper-like, too!

We are not talking tails & gowns here, but you should really look as damn good as you know you can (it’s New Year’s!!).

Public Assembly is throwing the only 24 hour party I know of within walking distance! This one is for the hardcores and lovers of Greenpoint’s very own glam rockers Semi-Precious-Weapons who will be performing. Gee, I know where my girl Krissy will be! 😉

I’m sure more options will pop up this week so if you’ve heard of a good local place to party for NYE shoot me an email and I’ll post it.

  1. I just recently went to the Richardson for the first time and was very impressed! What a nice place! If no party plans materialize, I think I’ll head over there. Thanks for the info!
