If you missed the Ba-rock Brooklyn stumble down Franklin last month – don’t worry! A new opportunity to support Obama is presenting itself this Sunday the 24th at the FINAL pool party. Greenpoint/Williamsburg, Brooklyn for Obama along with Brooklyn for Barack and Obama Pride are joining forces with Jelly NYC to to make the Pool’s swan song the most memorable one yet. Though the pool parties have always been free (and this is one is too), the Obama orgs will be there accepting donations that will be going directly to his presidential campaign. $20 bucks is the suggested donation although anything helps. If you are not registered to vote, they will be there to register you too. There will be no escaping!
To put those $20 dollars into perspective – if you take one night off from your busy vodka soda schedule at the Royal Oak, you will have enough to support the ‘Bams. $20 also translates into 1.5 pairs of men’s American Apparel underwear.
Yo La Tengo is going to be there doing what they do, and so are Titus Adnronicus and Ebony Bones. If you have no plans to volunteer this election season – at least throw some paper into the hat, kiddies! So don a pair of yesterday’s baby rib briefs and show Obama some love. Seriously – it will feel good, like I-got-a-VIP-wristband-good.
