Transmitter Park will introduce a new live jazz series for the month of June starting this week.
In a collaboration with the Jazz Foundation and the North Brooklyn Parks Alliance, live music will be performed every Thursday in June. The first performance will come from the Rafik Williamson Quartet on Thursday, June 6th, at 7 p.m; all concerts are free.

June Bug Jazz Thursdays: Rafik Williamson Quartet at #transmitterpark Park Thu Jun 6th 7pm Free! This June @nbkparks is partnering with @jazzfoundationofamerica for the first time to bring free jazz to your neighborhood park. Every Thursday throughout the month, you can enjoy a sunset concert as part of the Jazz Foundation’s Gig Fund, a program that creates much-needed work for accomplished musicians and brings free concerts to underserved audiences across the country. In Transmitter our ears will be graced by the Rafik Williamson Quartet. Rafik Williamson has been a professional pianist for 58 years, having played with greats like Hank Mobley, Lou Donaldson, Archie Shepp, and Pharoah Sanders. Rafik has toured the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, and Japan. He is an alumnus of the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.
