Does anyone know why Guernsey Street seems to be the only street in the area that really has trees?
Has this mystery puzzled any other Greenpoint residents? Does anyone know the answer to this question?
I was just noticing today that India between Manhattan and Franklin has a ton of trees like Guernsey does.
I know Greenpoint lost a lot of trees like ten years ago to the Asian long-horned beetles. The ALB was first discovered in the United States in 1996 right here in Greenpoint.
The NY Times did an article on my neighbor growing up and the huge tree she had in her backyard, It was a a really nice tree and used to shade my backyard, too.
