It looks like it’ll be a rainy weekend. But that’s no excuse to stay indoors…Gear up and experience Greenpoint when it’s not green! Or pray to whichever weather gods you believe in. Personally, I think singing ‘Rain, rain go away…’ x100 does the trick nicely.

Saturday, August 6

This summer heat got you smelling funky? Bios Apothecary (61 West Street) is here to scent you up! Join in their Natural Perfume Workshop this Saturday from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m, or 2 – 4:30 p.m. You’ll get to create your very own dried flower and gemstone-infused perfume. This is one sure way to stand out in Greenpoint — smelling one of a kind! Your way to great scent here.

Your Saturday doesn’t have to be ruined by the rain. GP81 (81 Quay Street), our beloved local climbing gym, is collaborating with Black Girls Boulder and Try Hard Crew to host the Trans(c)end Climbing Competition – 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The competition is an inclusive climbing event that aims to bring together and center BIPOC climbers of all gender identities and abilities. The problems will be lead-set by Black women and non-binary routesetters, and there’ll be prizes from several sponsors. All proceeds of the event go towards Blk Out Boulderfest.

Sunday, August 7

Cake is a Lie (963 Manhattan Avenue) isn’t an anti-dessert establishment. I wouldn’t do that to you. It’s a brand spanking new tattoo shop! This Sunday, stop by from 12 p.m. onwards and join in for yet another Grand Opening Party this week. Get inked on a whim! Or give it plenty of thought and browse through your options here

All Weekend

It’s NYC Restaurant Week! While many restaurants in Williamsburg are participating, let’s give a virtual round of applause to Greenpoint’s own Esme (999 Manhattan Avenue) for their debut!

Three-course prix fixe options are available from August 1 – 21, just for $45. Enjoy these late summer dishes before it’s pumpkin-flavored everything again.

Maison Jar (566 Leonard Street) is a refillery and grocery store that just joined the Greenpoint community not too long ago. You’ll get to shop for food, home essentials, and personal care items — all without unnecessary packaging. Use code ‘NYLOCALS’ for 10% off in-store

What do you get when Peter Pan and Edith’s collab — a Coffee and Tahini Doughnut!

Only available on the weekends at Peter Pan (727 Manhattan Avenue), you can get this old-meets-new experience during the week at Edith’s (495 Lorimer Street).

Obviously, limited quantities are available — no limits as to how many each person can buy! *wink wink* But seriously, save some for the next person in line so we get to all experience this glory.

A little rain isn’t going to get us Greenpointers down! Go about your weekend and keep tagging @greenpointers.
