The Williamsburg Arts and Historical Center (135 Broadway, Brooklyn) is now accepting artwork submissions for their upcoming show WAH Goes Abroad. The deadline is Sunday, September 2nd at 6pm. Artists are encouraged to submit artworks in any medium, including two-dimensional works (painting, drawing. watercolor, printmaking, photography, etc), three-dimensional works (sculpture including craft such as glass, ceramic, weaving, furniture, etc), video/film, and installation.
WAH says the exhibit: “…hopes to explore how we navigate the experience of going abroad and what we take away from our experiences traveling. Questions of identity and nationality are inherent as one immerses oneself in a different culture. How do we interact with other nationalities, do we experience them as voyeurs or do we ‘dive in’? How do we react to returning to our ancestral countries, are we experiencing them as an immigrant or seeing them for the first time? What do we seek to capture on our return, the commonalities or the differences?”

$25 submission fee? So this is not an open call, it’s a business.
