Spring Cleaning: Donate Instruments to Kids!

Have an old instrument? Donate it to kids!

If you’re rummaging through your closets, getting down and dirty on some Spring cleaning this weekend and you happen to find a dusty old instrument that you will likely never use again, why not donate it to kids? WQXR is having an instrument drive from now until April 7th. You can easily drop instruments off at locations in all five boroughs. They recommend instruments that can be used in band and orchestra programs, including string instruments, brass, woodwinds, percussion and guitars – but they can’t accept pianos, organs, timpani, harps or any other instrument that cannot be hand-carried and the are not accepting recorders.

About Jen G

After living in NYC my entire life, I found the strongest sense of community in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Running this blog is truly an honor and the best part is meeting its readers in real life. Everyday I am energized by smiles and inspiring conversations with fellow Greenpointers who tirelessly do and create incredible things that are good for our community and share the same love I have for life here. If you see me walking with my little dog "D" - please say hi!
