Since our upcoming Valentine’s Market is all about love, we are asking our vendors what they love and how it inspires their creations.
Yana Rodin who makes Yarnas, which are wearable knit pieces made from locally sourced yarn that is hand painted or dyed, found inspiration for her work in the installation by Orly Genger that was recently on view in Madison Square Park.
Of the work Yana said:
I find her grand scale environmental installation inspirational coupled with her color palette, organic shapes, and tactile texture of her sculptures. I love the fact that Orly’s art can be touched and enjoyed by people. My yarn necklaces are smaller scale art pieces that can be be worn and enjoyed by people in a more intimate way.
