Fellow Greenpointers blogger Molly sent me a link to this NYPost article about an apparent windfall of cash Greenpoint has been awarded in a settlement.

The article lists a dozen or so ideas for the money including a boathouse, dog runs, trees along McGuinness Blvd, botanic gardens and more.

Through a settlement with the state over failures at the Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, the city agreed to provide $10 million for environmental benefit projects in Greenpoint — the largest such allocation in state history.

This includes the $7 million targeted specifically for waterfront-improvement projects within a half mile of the treatment plant.
