ABOUT THE JEREMIE PROJECT
Founded by Jo Albright and Jean Rene Alexandre in 2009, The Jeremie Project is dedicated to providing secondary schooling for young women who are willing to learn, but are disadvantaged by poor families who cannot pay the fees for a standard education. The initial five girls (ages 18 and above) are also taking computer and English classes in our cyber cafe. By providing them with dormitory living in Jeremie they will learn small business skills leading to employment opportunities. By giving them a chance to attend a university in Haiti they will contribute to increasing the country’s per capital income significantly. Most importantly, education teaches girls they have rights too.
