Just got this email from a reader and I saw one of these last night myself. Anyone know what the deal is?
Hey Greenpointers,
I keep seeing an H Bus tooling on the new B62 route (?). It just started showing up after the new year. I haven’t been on it yet, but people seem to be riding it. Any clue what this is?
Google was no help–nor was the MTA page, obviously.
Thanks!
Meghan
When I hopped on the B62 this morning, it also said, "H". It seems to be an error, as the bus driver was changed the display after one of my fellow riders pointed it out to him.
The funny thing is the one I saw looked like a totally brand new bus – I wonder if it's the same bus we're seeing and it's just quirk in the display that the drivers forget to change.
I was getting all excited thinking it meant like Hybrid or something. LOL!
Yeah, I think the "H" goes up on the display when they're changing the sign. Not that that makes any sense at all.
Thanks ladies!
The B61 has been split into 2 sections, B62 from Long Island City to the Fulton Mall, downtown Brooklyn; the B61 a free transfer one block away in downtown Brooklyn out to IKEA. We hope service is better!!!!!!

I saw one a couple of days ago, and it was also one of the new Orion VII Next Generation buses… so, yeah, kind of thinking it may just be one bus with a messed-up display.
I've been on the B62 ten times this week and 3 of the buses said "Not in Service" even though they were in service. Didn't see any Hs. And service is NOT better. Buses have been cut from the 7:00 hour. This commuter is NOT happy!
