I <3 October and well, I <3 Oktoberfest even more! t.b.d. is hosting an Oktoberfest joint this weekend. I’ve still not checked out this place for myself, but I think it’s probably time I break down and make a visit. I tend to like a cozy atmosphere and t.b.d. is so wide open and minimalist, it just never appealed to me. But I’m always hearing how people like it, so who am IU not to switch it up every so often?
So this weekend, Oct 2-4th you can visit t.b.d. and get your fill of German brews, music, bratwurst and lederhosen. Yes, I said lederhosen. Facebook event found here. Fan them here.
The Habitat is doing their thang next Saturday Oct 10th. Authentic German beers and food to be had – including those pretzels… Ohhhh those pretzels!! Facebook event here. Fan The Habitat here.
For a fest of a different nature, check out the annual Enid’s Apple Pie Bake-Off on Saturday Oct 17th. A hit every year, this is the 7th (!!!) annual event and it gets better every year. Facebook event here.
Join fellow foodies on Saturday, October 17th for Enid’s 7th Annual Apple Pie Bake-Off. Dust off your rolling pins, call your grandmother for her top secret recipe, tie on your apron and start testing out different apple varieties.
All pies are due between 4 and 4:45. The winning categories are 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, Prettiest Pie, and Most Creative! Sweet prizes, such as a $100 gift certificate to Enid’s, cool stuff from the Brooklyn Kitchen, Sweet Deliverance, keepsake pie plates and rad bragging rights. After the judging, the top pies will be announced, prizes awarded, followed by a homemade pie free-for-all.
