The Hipster Grifter has turned herself in to Philadelphia authorities! “Friend Bucky Turco, a writer for the ANIMAL New York blog, received a message from Ferrell — his acquaintance — that she had turned herself in to police in Philadelphia because “things were getting ridiculous,” and because she did not want to do it in New York. She is expected to be extradited to Salt Lake City soon.” – Brooklyn Daily Eagle

Camille Becerra will not be re-opening Paloma. She ditching Greenpoint for the LES because of what appears to be an asshole landlord. According to the article, her landlord Steven Love was anything but showing the love. Camille was part of the first wave of Greenpoint nightlife. Opening her restaurant when there was still relatively nothing around Franklin & Greenpoint. Now her space is smack dab in the middle of the hot zone and I bet the landlord is just blinded by possible dollar signs. What a fuckhead. – BlackBook

Eater has a photo plywood report on the Norman Avenue cafe space that Kea’s been watching. Cooking equipment has been installed! – Eater

Although it’s not in Greenpoint, Celebrate Brooklyn has announced their Performing Arts Festival lineup and there is some really good shit in there. I hate crowds and I just know that this is going to a crazy clusterfuck but I still think it might be worth it to check out Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. – FREEwilliamsburg

Our OnPoint Cyclones have won a record breaking 90 games in a row! And they might be an official record – “The Guinness Book of World Records was contacted about us winning 90 games in a row and still going and they have asked me to submit a request for them to come and see us and possible get in the book.” Wow! And of course, they still need supporters. Even with the possibility of being in the Guinness Book, these kids are still in need of donations to help keep their team afloat. – OnPoint Cyclones

Two nice finds on eBay this week. A retro style Greenpoint Brooklyn t-shirt that looks like you had it since your days at Little League and a pretty cool business card from 1890 for Charles Sabath and his oil clothing. His shop stood at 568 Manhattan Avenue, which today is right next door to Enid’s, but in 1890 it was apparently near Dupont St (and Greenpoint was part of Long Island) as indicated on the card.
