The weather is FINALLY going to be nice. Not too hot, not too cold, juuuuuuust right. So the need to get out and about will be at an all time high this weekend. Things to do? Thrift shop!
This weekend is the Church of the Ascension Flea Market. Friday and Saturday May 1st & 2nd from 11am-5pm and Sunday May 3rd from Noon to 4pm at 127 Kent Street. Definitely sure to garner more than a few interested parties.
With the flea market going on, it’s more than likely that folks will be having stoop sales, too. At least I know Sarah will be on Sunday.
Hi Justine,
I’m not sure if you normally post things like this on your blog, but I am an avid reader and I thought you might find this interesting.
Four ladies and two dudes are selling a ton of stuff – clothes, shoes, books, kitchenware, tschotschkes, a sewing machine, camping supplies, a vintage Schwinn Collegiate bicycle, bike parts & accessories, craft supplies and tons more!
Sunday May 3, 11am-5pm
I heard from Mark at Kill Devil Hill that some of his neighbors are also planning a tag sale for that day so it might be a good day to find cheap deals in the neighborhood.
Thanks!
Sarah
This Saturday also is the opening of Artists & Fleas Market in McCarren! The Market in McCarren will take place Saturdays from 10am-6pm located in the North end of McCarren Park, adjacent to the McCarren Field House and near the year-round Saturday Green Market. “A weekly outdoor independent artist and designer market in partnership with the Open Space Alliance of North Brooklyn (OSA) to benefit McCarren Park. The Market in McCarren will feature independent designers of clothing, jewelry, accessories and handmade crafts and will include an array of traditional and non-traditional visual artists.”
And for even more Flea Markets check out Brooklyn Based post on “The Other Fleas”.
A great weekend for deals!
Thanks Justine! For now we are still planning on having the sale and praying it doesn’t rain. But we’ll still be there if it’s drizzling!
Ok, we can’t compete with this rain and are postponing to Saturday, May 9. Hope to see you then!
