Reader Victoria sent me an interesting email this morning that I thought I’d pass on.
NEWLY CONSTRUCTED CONDOMINIUMS FOR SALE IN THE GREENPOINT SECTION OF BROOKLYN
Herbert Street Condos is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for 14 condominium units located at 37-43 Herbert Street in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn. This property is being developed through the New Foundations Homeownership Program of New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the New York State Affordable Housing Corporation and the Housing Partnership Development Corporation.
According to the info sheet there is 1 studio, 9 one bedrooms, 3 two bedrooms and 1 three bedroom that will be available for reduced prices. As always, applications are selected by lottery but there are advantages. Current CB 1 residents (Greenpoint & Williamsburg) will receive a preferenace for 50% of the units! So if you’ve got at least 5% to 20% of the purchase price for a down payment, the ability to afford all closing costs and meet their criteria – you can own a place in Greenpoint.
Info sessions are at 261 Driggs Ave. at 6:30pm on Tues. April 21st and May 5th.
Anyone else see or know what happened Friday night around 8:30 – 9pm at the corner of Manhattan Ave and Dupont? There were a number of squad cars, undercover policeman searching the trashcans with flash lights while a Police Helicopter hovered overhead with the searchlight on full tilt. My guess is either it was murder / assault or drugs. Would love it if any other Northside Greenpointers could help out with some deets. Thanks!
has anyone seen this place?
pictures of the inside?
12:22 a.m.: This might already have been addressed on this blog, but apparently there was a robbery at P.O.P. restaurant [sic, i know I heard this wrong]. They caught them later because the getaway car was just sitting on Dupont Street.
