Four days of Music & Art in Greenpoint and Williamsburg? Sounds fucking awesome!
On behalf of The L Magazine, we’re psyched to announce the first annual Northside Festival, four days of live music showcases and art exhibitions taking over Williamsburg and Greenpoint this June. I’ve provided a press release below, and we’ll be announcing new details on the Northside site over the next couple of weeks.
The L Magazine Announces the First Annual Northside Festival: a Four-Day Celebration of Music & Art in Brooklyn
This June 11-14, The L Magazine will host the first annual Northside Festival, a four-day celebration of Brooklyn’s independent music and art scenes at over fifty venues throughout Williamsburg and Greenpoint.
The L Magazine will produce a number of shows, but Northside is primarily a collaborative event, and we’re giving dozens of New York music industry influencers curatorial control over their own showcases, featuring the artists they think you should be listening to. Over 30 record labels, blogs, radio stations, and independent promoters will be presenting, including Brooklyn Vegan, Gothamist, Frenchkiss Records, WFUV, Kanine Records, and many more. Bands and other showcase presenters will be announced over the next few weeks on northsidefestival.com.
Northside has also teamed up with the Williamsburg Gallery Association to plan art exhibitions and events throughout the weekend. Exhibits and receptions have been announced at AG Gallery, 3rd Ward, and Art 101.
The Northside Festival will kick off with an opening night party, featuring live performances, special guests, and much, much more. Stay tuned to northsidefestival.com for updates and announcements.
