Gothamist: Did Apple Buy the Bedford Ave Salvation Army?
Our sources are telling us that Apple has purchased the building that currently houses the Salvation Army located at 176 Bedford Avenue (on the corner of Bedford and North 7th) in Williamsburg.
By the time I can afford to replace the iPod that a guy I hooked up with two weeks ago STOLE from me (Yes, I do realize I have the absolute worst taste in men. Ever.) maybe I’ll be able to walk to a place to purchase it.
Although I love my thrift shopping, that Salvation Army was ALWAYS one of the most disgusting ones around. Picked over to death, dirty and disgusting inside – even more so than most thrifts. And ever since the bedbug epidemic I don’t shop at any thrift shops that look even remotely dicey in the ‘hood. I stay away from Beacon’s Closet, The Thing and both Williamsburg and Greenpoint’s Salvation Army’s for the most part. I’m just too afraid of bringing home something that I won’t be able to get rid of. (There’s a dating joke in there somewhere…)
And speaking of bedbugs, reader Adam Berkowitz “wanted to make sure we were aware that it’s now a lot easier to combat paying rent when bedbugs aren’t kept under control.”
Well, at least that’s some good news.
Stole your ipod?! Seriously? That’s a doozy!
Oh yeah, I totally pick winners.
Actually, it would appear this building hasn’t actually been sold to anyone. Gothamist appears to be making things up. Interesting.
