I just walked down the Avenue and Sleepy’s is already open for business, complete with the Greenpoint prerequisite “We speak Polish” sign in the window. That was really, really quick, wasn’t it? I can’t believe George’s is gone forever – 1938-2008.
It does remind me I need a new bed and that buying one might be the most responsible thing I could do with my economic stimulus payment (if I ever get it).
Speaking of being responsible, WaMu is hiring for the Manhattan Avenue branch via Monster. If you’re in the banking business, it might be a good time to get a job you can walk to. Of course, they want bi or even tri-lingual folks – Polish, Spanish and English. The Greenpoint trifecta.
