This Sunday 7/20 we have lots of amazing food vendors, and a few are bringing the heat to our Summer Market! Don’t get burned…
On Saturday 3/8, venture over to Daddy’s (435 Graham Avenue) for a pop-up shop curated by Debbie Tuch, creator of the jewelry line Glitterlimes. Shoppers can find artisanal goods such as Muffy Brandt printed leggings and tops, Tim Harrington (of Les Savy Fav) illustrations, Andrew Salome knits, Jena Derman ceramics, Julie Van Such digital print scarves, Junior Town Knits hand-dyed yarn straight from Los Angeles, Wowch clothing, and of course, Glitterlimes.
DJ Knife Fight will be spinning pre-Beatles rock and there will be drinks on hand.
RSVP to Daddy’s Handmade Treasures.
I also had the pleasure of asking Debbie some questions on curating, making jewelry, and Brooklyn. Continue reading
Let’s celebrate Spring with a fun market day on April 13, 2014 at Greenpoint Loft (67 West St, 5th Fl) from 1-7pm. We are looking for talented vendors who hand create products locally – food vendors welcome!
Click here to check out photos from our Valentine’s Market. The event takes place in a gorgeous 6,000 square foot loft space on the Greenpoint waterfront overlooking the East River and Brooklyn.
If you want to sponsor our market, please contact: markets at gmail.com
Many people ask when they meet me at our busy vendor markets, “how do you have the energy to do all this?” The answer is simple. I get energized by people who create and love what they do. And I drink espresso.
After doing so many markets and coming into contact with so many talented creators, I feel I have some good advice to share with vendors to make their market day a success. Along with Natasha from Heartbeat we can up with a helpful and detailed list.
Broken hearts and sour kisses welcome.
Even if the gift tag says “To: You, From: You” – remember, before you can love anyone else you MUST love yourself – and a great way to show yourself love is a shiny new pair of earrings or a grilled cheese sandwich. We’ll have stuffs for your BFs & GFs, too.
Make sure to RSVP and spread the love!

The artisan economy is here and chances are you’re part of it. If you put a personal touch to the service you provide or the product you produce, you’re a 21st century artisan. As an artisan, you’ve got a passion for what you do, but can you turn that passion into profit and create long-term success?
Business growth is all about CHANGE and that’s why so many businesses never grow. Owners often stay busy all day, but never make the CHANGE from being a skilled artisan to a savvy entrepreneur. That CHANGE is the key to building a successful business. It arises through gaining CLARITY in your role and in your vision, building a COMMUNITY for support, and creating a COURSE OF ACTION for growth.
Whether you’re just starting out or a few years in, this program will take you through that CHANGE and get you from where you are to where you want to be.
- You want to challenge your fear of growth
- You’re full of great ideas and need a plan to execute them
- You want to compete with big business
- You want to stand out in a crowded marketplace
- You want to commit to building a business that supports your life and offers you stability
..then this program is for you. I’ve worked with numerous business owners, and a wide variety of businesses, to help them successfully make that CHANGE. I can help you too!
During this program, we’ll create a comprehensive road map for growth, making sure your values and vision are clearly defined and that all of the strategies we build serve your mission. We’ll outline all of the systems you’ll need to put your new plan into practice. And most importantly, we’ll develop your leadership role. Great strategies and a clear road map will get you nowhere if you don’t have the leadership skills to communicate your vision, build committed teams, inspire your customers, and claim your space in the marketplace. You’ll be learning right along side other business owners in your community, so you can build relationships to support your growth long after our class ends.
Growing a business takes courage to put yourself out there, it also takes commitment and dedication to make it work. I know you’ve got what it takes, so let’s get started! This program is offered in both a private or group setting.

At the Propeller Coffee Shop along Manhattan Ave, I sat down to talk with John McKinney, the CEO of Ashe Avenue. John was at the Future of Web Design Conference (Oct. 7 – 9) and gave a talk on “Designing for the Forgotten User: Aesthetics and UX in the Editorial Platform”. Ashe Avenue was also behind the Creator’s Project which won the 2012 Webby Award Winner for Music and Branded Content.
We are booked for Sunday, December 8, 2013 for our Annual Greenpointers Holiday Market from 1-7pm at The Greenpoint Loft (67 West St, 5th Fl)
Note: our venue has changed, but it is not far (same building) and it is bigger and better with 360 degree views of Brooklyn and the NYC Skyline and the space itself is flooded with light. Because we had to seek a new venue, the space rental price has gone up significantly. In turn our table prices have also increased. That being said, we have done our research and our rates are competitive with other markets. As always it will be the BEST local shopping market around town!
Included is a FREE Featured Vendor Post on Greenpointers.com (worth $125) for all vendors who are accepted and submit information about their business in a timely manner.
Please fill out the form on the next page: Continue reading
On a Sunday morning, I met with Sam Jones and Ben Bernstein of Glass Embassy at Cafe Grumpy to talk about going from video production to web design to video games (in the future) and disregarding conventions a little too much.
Meet the two friends behind Glass Embassy: Sam Jones and Ben Bernstein. Ben is the Founder and President of Glass Embassy, and occupies several roles: creative director, producer, composer, and editor. Sam is the Vice President and director and cinematographer for the company. His expertise is chiefly in video and film production.
