Make sure to get crafty, get your nails did AND a portrait in our blossoming photo booth upstairs in the loft!
Our bar will proudly serve Brooklyn Brewery beer, Greenhook Ginsmith Kingsland Coladas, Kombucha Brooklyn, Adelina’s Rice Balls and Cafecito Bogotá Empanadas.
Not sure if you’ve noticed but cats are everywhere! Big cats, little cats – they are the new spirit animal of this here Brooklyn life. It’s because they are the coolest – even cooler than hipsters. It’s nothing new; Ancient Egyptians sweat the shit out of cats, too.
Maybe we idolize them because we know if they had a choice they wouldn’t participate in our fur ball schemes. Did you see this? 500 Years ago cats were depicted wearing futuristic jetpacks in old drawings. I know my cat would NOT like a jetpack, or a tiara.
Another glorious cat events around town worthy of your attention (even though your cat would definitely be like, “no thanks loser – I’d rather stay home and puke on your computer cables “) – is Brooklyn Craft Company’s “Cat Lady Craft Night” on 4/5.
We chatted with Brett Bara of Bk Craft Co. about why cats are just too cool for school and everything else. Continue reading →

If you’re into bold colors, intricate hand made creations and Frida Kahlo (who isn’t?) – then you’re going to love Snapdragon, a featured Valentine’s Market vendor. Shop owner Nina Shope tells us why she is all about Mexican Folk Art:
My work is strongly influenced by my passion for Mexican folk art, from beading to embroidery, paper mache to metalwork, painting to textiles. I feel a great affinity for the bold, rich colors; the playful and somewhat tortured iconography of saints, sirens, skeletons, devils; and the evocative paintings (and photographs) of artists like Frida Kahlo. Many people ask when they meet me at our busy vendor markets, “how do you have the energy to do all this?” The answer is simple. I get energized by people who create and love what they do. And I drink espresso.
After doing so many markets and coming into contact with so many talented creators, I feel I have some good advice to share with vendors to make their market day a success. Along with Natasha from Heartbeat we can up with a helpful and detailed list. Continue reading →
The day of hearts and kisses is approaching and we have a one-stop local shopping market for all your Valentine’s gift needs.
Broken hearts and sour kisses welcome.
Even if the gift tag says “To: You, From: You” – remember, before you can love anyone else you MUST love yourself – and a great way to show yourself love is a shiny new pair of earrings or a grilled cheese sandwich. We’ll have stuffs for your BFs & GFs, too.
