We are surprised and saddened to learn of The Bounty’s (131 Greenpoint Ave) sudden closing. We always loved how sitting at their bar felt like you were cozied up in the hull of a ship, waiting for your captain to bring you the day’s catch. With a solid seafood menu and on point service, it always felt like the cozy neighborhood gem you could take out-of-towners to impress them. The restaurant opened in 2013, and we will fondly remember their whole fish, $1 oysters and adorable back garden. Farewell, The Bounty!

With a heavy heart we make the following announcement.
The Bounty has closed it’s doors.
Built by hand with a few friends, we quietly opened five Mays ago to little fanfare but eventually made good friends with lovely Greenpoint and beyond. We delighted in being a neighborhood gem and strived to offer real food, prepared with good intentions and quality ingredients. Our aim was to be a go-to place that wouldn’t let you down and might even surprise you.  Coming from various restaurant and bar worlds and experiences, we often talked about the simple trifecta of good food, service and atmosphere and tried to instill that since day one and be ourselves, if a little different.
We’ve hosted weddings and countless birthdays, anniversaries, showers, date nights, dinners and brunches out with friends. You always brought your folks here when they were in town, you sat with us at the bar and chatted with the regulars, or as our regular, you made knowledgeable recommendations to newcomers.
We sincerely apologize to everyone hit with this sudden news and closure, especially to those that have always supported us, loved us and cheered us on.

We will truly miss serving the neighborhood.  Thank you and goodnight.
