NAG’s ToxiCity Map

This Wednesday, July 27th at the McCarren Pool Community Room (776 Lorimer Street) from 6:30pm–8:30pm, Neighbors Allied for Good Growth are hosting a science fair-style event with justice-driven maps on display and open for public questions and commentary. The event coincides with the unveiling of NAG’s ToxiCity Map, which shows environmental conditions and hazardous activity in Williamsburg and Greenpoint.

Attendees will be able to explore the space, view the maps and have the opportunity to ask questions to the 10+ participating organizations, including Curb your Litter: Greenpoint, Ghost Bikes, Northwest Bushwick Community Group, and the NYSDEC. The maps cover subjects like street litter data, cyclist crash fatalities, contaminated soil, affordable housing and locations of superfund sites.

After the fair gets going, each organization will introduce themselves and their work along with a few other community-oriented speakers. The event is free, family-friendly, and open to the public.
