Some angry person has a serious gripe with the Glasserie. Wednesday night, the eatery was shocked to discover a brick had been launched straight through their glass front entrance. The restaurant’s security footage identified the culprit as a woman in her late 20’s to early 30’s with bleach blonde hair, wearing big black sunglasses.
The restaurant manager said the woman was caught on camera hurling a brick–not once, not twice, but three times before it shattered the glass door. As for why anyone would want to damage the Glasserie’s property? Nobody knows for sure. But unfortunately for the hood, the Glasserie isn’t the only victim of a crime these days.
One fellow Greenpointer recently emailed us to say her apartment had been robbed in broad daylight. Others have reported smashed windows on both cars and two other Franklin Street storefronts. One of the stores hit was the nabe’s popular go-to bookstore, Word. In Word’s case, their window was a victim of a late night brawl gone bad.
