Public Walk-Thru at Greenpoint Hotel After Tenants File Action For Deplorable Conditions – Tomorrow 3/6

The “Greenpoint Hotel” slumlord is about to get his ass handed to him by 30 of his tenants.

Greg Hanlon at St. Nick’s Alliance emailed that tomorrow Wednesday March 6, 2013 at 11am, St. Nick’s Alliance, MFY Legal Services, and Councilmember Stephen Levin are hosting a public walk-thru “to showcase the deplorable conditions of 1109 Manhattan Avenue, a single-room occupancy building in Greenpoint that has a staggering 450 open housing violations…Today, 30 of the building’s tenants filed an HP Action in housing court in the hopes of forcing the landlord to remedy the conditions.”

About Jen G

After living in NYC my entire life, I found the strongest sense of community in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. My proudest moment as owner and editor of Greenpointers.com is raising over $11,000 for New Yorkers affected by Hurricane Sandy. It shows how neighbors can come together through one small blog and make a big impact.
