Carmine’s Original Pizza: Closed

@getdizzzy

Major bummer: Carmine’s Original Pizza (93 Norman Ave) has been shut down by the health department. Twitter friends @scallopdelion notified us @getdizzzy sent us the photo. I hope the issues are resolved soon. Carmine rules!

About Jen G

After living in NYC my entire life, I found the strongest sense of community in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Running this blog is truly an honor and the best part is meeting its readers in real life. Everyday I am energized by smiles and inspiring conversations with fellow Greenpointers who tirelessly do and create incredible things that are good for our community and share the same love I have for life here. If you see me walking with my little dog "D" - please say hi!

    What? Have you ever actually had a slice there? I’ve given the place many, many tries but been really disappointed each time. Hands down my least favorite place to get pizza in Greenpoint.

    That doesn’t make this any less sad on some levels though. The place seems to have been owned by the same guy for 30 something years and he was still there, hunched over the register, day in and day out.

    Also to anyone else reading this: Carmine’s Original Pizza on Norman =/= Carmine’s Pizzeria on Graham. The latter is delicious.

      I have tried it. It’s not my favorite slice but its not bad. That old man is so sweet and has had that place for like 30 years. Many many people love the pizza.

    I’m one of those people who loves his pizza. The crust is never soggy.
