This Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 1pm, join the Greenpoint Monitor Museum at Greenwood Cemetery (500 25th St), to honor honor the USS Monitor Crewmen at their grave sites for the 150th Anniversary of the Sinking of the USS Monitor, followed by a memorial service at Greenwood Chapel with musical tribute, USS Monitor displays, and refreshments.

  1. I have to commend the parks department for quickly cleaning the mcgolrick park monitor memorial, which was so viciously defaced this past week. I wonder who would stoop to such a low as to vandalize that beautiful memorial.
