PLAY and Pop-Up Adventure Play have teamed up and are bringing the first Pop-Up PLAY Day to McCarren Park. Children of all ages will experience a fun filled day featuring carefully chosen activities and play stations:

PLAY is a children’s indoor playspace and enrichment center located right on McCarren Park in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. In the six months since its opening PLAY has established itself as neighborhood staple for families encouraging and promoting creative play in children. With over 1300 members PLAY was just named “Best Playspace 2011” by New York Magazine.
Drawing upon experience and knowledge of the UK tradition of roving playworkers and adventure playgrounds, Pop-Up Adventure Play works nationally to ensure all children have access to self-directed and hands-on play within communities of supportive adults. This New York-based organization creates Pop-Up Adventure Playgrounds—rich and meaningful play environments with everyday materials. By partnering with and serving community non-profits, cultural institutions and businesses, Pop-Up Adventure Play trains and empowers parents, child professionals and local organizers to create neighborhood initiatives in support of child-led free play.
