I am in North Carolina and promised myself I wouldn’t check the computer or blog at all but you know how it is. I came across this horrible news this morning and I am hoping that it isn’t anyone I know.

Car plunges into water in Brooklyn

Police say the car careened through a fence and plunged into the water, off of Apollo Street in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, at around 3:30 a.m.

Eyewitness News has learned one man, in his 20s, was pulled from the creek, screaming that people were still trapped below. After hours of searching, a second person was reportedly discovered dead in the water.

But, police said, at least three people were in the car when it went into the creek, which runs along the border of Brooklyn and Queens.

It’s a horrible death to drown but drowning in the disgusting waters of the Newtown Creek is even worse.
